HAKOTO is a body-instrument comprised of a complex sensor array and a standard plant physiology logarithm which reveals a generative | dynamic sound response to localized atmospheric changes. Rooted in the current climate crisis the work reveals potential commonalities across human and more-than-human entities that share a common atmosphere and planetary condition. It has enabled us to reconsider ideas and perceptions about our inter relationship with trees. There is a shift in the value placed on trees through sound. The basis of this symbolic exchange is photosynthesis and transpiration. Collins + Goto studio (2024)
