Working with curator Carolyn Gausden and others at the Glasgow Womens Library Reiko developed an exterior garden comprised of native trees and traditional fruit trees. A Peace Arbor which is the setting for performances with HAKOTO as well as ‘Wish Tree’ a project by Yoko Ono. Inside the library you can see a terrific video shot by Lou McLoughlan as well as an installation titled ‘Ecofeminism: Women and the Environment’ a small, temporary contribution to the content of the library. Below you can see images from the opening Weeknd of GI along with some short video’s of Reiko performing first with an oak tree, then a hawthorn tree. Each has a unique physiological response to the local atmospheric conditions of the immediate environment which shapes the sound you hear.
